This Mission is now complete. Thank you to all our members who made the Mission today for David Huss, be it in person or in Spirit. As those of you there know, the Family was very appreciative of our attendance. Mr. Huss had many friends there as well. The Service started a few minutes late because of the line of people waiting to sign in and get seated.
We had 15 bikes and 2 cages attending. Thank you again to all of you guys and gals for doing what you do. We all know it's the right thing to do and once again I am so proud to be a part of it. A special Thank You to Juan for Wrangling the Flags today.

I know I must be starting to sound like a broken record because it seems I say this after every mission, but once again you guys and gals of the Patriot Guard never cease to amaze me. What a nice turn out in Burnet today for Vietnam Veteran Thomas Pearson. I did not get a total head count but the final count on Bikes and Cages was 17 and 2.
I also want to thank members of the VFW, ICVMC, and Hill Country Honor Guard who joined with us today in honoring Mr. Pearson. I spoke with the Family immediately after the service and was asked to make sure that each and every one of you were told "Thank You" and how much they appreciated your attendance today. I know I have said this many times before too….But "We Do Make a Difference".
Thank you again to all who made this mission, be it in person or in Spirit. You made my job today a lot easier. I hope all are back home Safe and Sound (and Warm)

The mission for LCDR B. J. Reynolds is now complete. I want thank each and everyone that attended the mission and I hope that all made it back home safely. The last count I had was 17 bikes, 1 trike, 3 cages and 24 souls to stand the Flag Line. As stated above by JBALL, the 24 included 2 fine young men with their own little Flags, and 3 First timers, one of which was also Active Duty. Thank You to everyone who helped make this mission a success, either by your attendance or otherwise.

Thank you to all the souls who braved the crisp air this morning and made the mission in Brady for Sgt. Clayton Wagner. The family asked that I pass along their many thanks and sincere gratitude to each and every one of you for being there for them in their time of sorrow and need. We do make a difference.
I believe the total tally was 15 souls (counting Hunter), 10 bikes, 1 trike, 2 cages, 1 trailer (with flags), and 1 Sidecar (with Hunter).
Thanks to all of you there in spirit too.

Just a word of Caution to those who will be attending the Mission for SFC Payne on Monday. FM 2338 is under construction in the area of the Funeral Home. There is a lot of construction equipment on and off the roadway and a lot of stop and go traffic. Please ride safe and pay a little extra attention in that area.

I just wanted to pass this along for all to know. Yesterday (Tuesday) I saw Mr. Bob Wessels in Austin. He is a relative of Mr. Koopmann's and was a pall bearer at the Funeral Sunday. He told that after the service he went to the Reception at the Hall across the road from the Church, as did most of the Family and Friends in attendance. He said that many of the people there had seen him talking with Keith and other PGR members during the service, so at the reception they came to him and asked "who were all those people holding the flags?" He told them who we were and what we do. They all told him how good it looked as they drove up, seeing all the flags along the road etc. Some even asked him what it took to have us attend a service if needed. So, As Keith said as we departed, Thanks to everyone who was there (in Body and\or Spirit)… "We DO Make a Difference."

Once again I find myself so proud of the Patriot Guard Members. Weather wise, the Memorial for Capt. Paul Pena in San Marcos today had it's "Semper Gumby" status right up to the last minute. The members were there regardless of what the weather was going to throw their way, and the Weather was iffy right up to the last minute, but it held. Thank you to all who made this mission today, either in body or in spirit….You do make a difference.
I hope all of you made it home safe and sound.

I just want to echo Keith's remarks. Today was a Special day. As we do PGR Mission after Mission you would think that we would eventually become hardened and "Immune" to anything that might bring tears to your eyes…Well…If that is so, I'm not there yet.
LCpl. Stanley was a true Hero and Texas "country boy". His casket was taken it's final few miles to the Cemetery in the back of his Dodge truck…I'm sure the way he would have wanted it…The kids at the Schools…and others all along the route from the time we left the Church to the cemetery…..The tractors in the fields with Flags and the "We Love You" and "We Will Miss You Cody" signs hanging from the elevated buckets….The elderly gentleman standing in his rural driveway leaning on a Walker…and the list goes on and on…all there to show their love and respect for this young Marine and his family….
"Mr. Macho" here Lost it less than 2 blocks from the Church….Proof positive that "I'm not there yet"….
Thank you to everyone there today….in Person or in Spirit…
Keith, Sam, "Wrangler" Mark…and all the RC's involved…You did a great job today…

    Keith,
Thank you for the Mission report. I missed this mission and my excuse for missing it is not really one that I am proud of, but nontheless I did not go. However, I do know the character of the Fredericksburg people well and I knew they would turn out in full force and support for "One of their own". That's Small Town, USA at it's best…..
I'm glad all went well and everyone made the mission safely. As for SA being late…Well…I feel that if the mission is under your control…You should be early…not late…It sounds like they may have set their clocks back to CST a couple of weeks early….:(

    TC,
    Apologies for not emailing sooner.

I work as a computer nerd for the US DVA.

My time starting the day after until today was taken up on an Obama Administration Iniative. As usual the boses, managers, and admin types take months to talk it up leaving the grunts to jump thru their backsides to get it done by deadline. As a Medic, I took care of the guys and gals, as Vet I still take care of the guys and gals. From that perspective it's a good job. But sometime it does make for severe constraints on my time.

Dad talked longer about his war experiences that day with you folks than I've ever known him to.

You folks gave him a gift whose value can not be measured.

He thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated you folks coming by, being able to visit with you, and the honors you paid him.

He has a progressive heart condition that has slowly been progressing for the past 10 years. 15 months ago, he had a bad spell and after looking at the X-ray movies of his heart and the real lack of diffusion of blood in the muscles, his cardiologist gave him 6 months. That was 15 months ago. It's gonna happen, we just don't know when.

My mother, my wife, the Granddaughter, and I all thank the PGR for their time, effort, and money spent doing this.

    Again, many thanks,

    JT Fowler

It was great Frank. I really can't pinpoint my feelings but I do know that of all the Missions we do filled with Sorrow, this was a welcome relief….sort of a cleansing effect…for lack of a better term at this moment…But I'm sure you know what I mean…I'm sure ALL our members know what I mean…That's why we belong to the Patriot Guard.

    This mission is Complete:

Thanks to all who made the trip to Burnet today to honor Mr. Fowler on his 92nd Birthday. When Mr. Fowler's son JT first contacted the PGR about doing this mission, he said 2 or 3 bikes would be great. Well, we had 20 bikes and trikes, Mary & Hunter in her Jeep. We had two WWII vets riding with us and we were joined at Mr. Fowlers residence By a POW from the Korean War. I think Mr. Fowler was beside himself. His wife and son both told me that he hadn't ever talked that much about his time in the service.
I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. It was a very nice "change of pace".
    Thanks Again,
    TC
