    Pete,

The PGR was honored that David's Family asked us to be there in their need of support for this Hero that protected our Country in the Military and the home front in Law Enforcement.

    Thank you for caring,

    Lou,

If you could pass this on to your Brother and Sister Riders, I would apreciate it.

I want to thank the Patriot Guard Riders for participating in Deputy David Blake's Funeral on Tuesday 10-06.

It was awesome to see so many of y'all out there. David and I went through the police academy together. He was a good a man.

Y'all are doing a good thing.

    Thank You,

    Pete Braun

The PGR touched the Family and a lot of other people on this mission, especially Deputy David Blake's fellow Law Enforcement Family.

My name is Philip Gero. I am a police officer with the Pflugerville, TX Police Department. I was a friend of Deputy David Blake of the Burnet County Sheriff's Office. I want to personally thank the Patriot Guard Riders for attending his funeral and showing their support of a fallen brother. Many times it feels like nobody cares about what we do and the sacrifices that sometimes have to be made. Your support has helped in this troubling time and shows that there are Americans that still care. Please pass on this message to any of your members that attended.

    Thank you.

Once again I would like to thank all the Members from near and far that attended the mission for Deputy Blake. As you could see, this was a major event for the Hill Country and I am honored that the Family wanted the Patriot Guard to be a part of it. A special Thank You to the advance Cemetery crew today. That was a big load off of my to do list. May Deputy David Blake Rest in Peace and God Bless.
I would also like to think everyone that attended the Mission in Killeen with Jerry, Ron, Dave and Roberto. When you have two missions going at the same time, sometimes it puts a strain on our available members and they have to make a choice. I know that all of our members attending today were at one Mission in person and the other in Spirit. That's just the way we are. I hope all returned home safe and sound. You guys and Gals are great.

I want to "Ditto" Marks Post…A great turnout today For SFC Sawyer and his Family at both ends of the Mission. Juan and Russ had it all together in Austin while Mary, Ron and Bill took care of the CenTex portion. Great to see David Hall and his "Liberty Bell" there. That man is a Saint in my books. God bless him and what he does….
The moisture from the rain on my faceshield finally cleared up about the time we got on the Toll road…But guess what….Starting from the IH35\195 intersection most of the moisture and blured vision came from inside the faceshield….America and it's "True" Americans trully are Beautiful. Thank You to everyone involved in SFC Sawyers final trip home today. Either in Body or Spirit…You did the right thing.

I guess I'm starting to sound like a broken record here, But Men, women, and now children (had some great kids passing out water today)of the PGR, you never cease to amaze me. It was a great turn out for LCDR Mike Foster today. Thank each and everyone of you who made the trip today to honor him. I recieved many words of gratitude and appreciation from the Family and friends. They wanted me to let ALL of you know that our presence there today was very special to them. I had one elderly Gentleman come up to me at the end of the service and say, "When I drove in here and saw all these Motorcycles I thought, this must not be the right place!" Then he said "I think it is really great what ya'll are doing and want to Thank You." I shook his hand and told him it was an honor for us to have been invited.
Thanks again to all involved today and I hope everyone made it home safely.

This mission is now complete. And as usual our Patriot Guard members came out in force. There was a great turnout today for Korean Veteran Buddy Slack that included the Patriot Guard, fellow friends and riders of his, and many Family members. I recieved many Compliments today on our group and Thanks for doing what we do. These Compliments came from Family, friends, The Funeral Director, and the Military Honor Guard.
Thank you to everyone who was there today, be it in person or in Spirit. You made my job easy and as far as I know everything worked out just as planned. A special Thanks to Terry for RC'ing a group up from Austin and Assisting me today, and to JC for pulling "Wrangler" duty…..

Nancy Caddell, the wife of Mr. Slacks good friend and riding partner Buddy Caddell, sent these pictures of the mission today. I hope I can get the link to work so you can enjoy them….

Once again I find myself amazed at members of the Patriot Guard Riders….Their gratitude and devotion to our Fallen Hero's is unmatched by anyone, simply because they know it's the right thing to do. Thanks Austin, CenTex and San Antonio. Thanks to all who where there today for Spc. Farris and his Family from Smithville to Johnson City and points beyond. And how about Dripping Springs? On very short notice they "Got it Together" What a turn out…You guys are great….
