8 patriot guard members braved the cold today in Bastrop. There was enough room to get out of the wind which helped. Even with the cold it was an honor to stand the line for MSgt. Gaylan Sampson.

The weather this morning was in the mid 40s. and the 10 PGR members that showed up to Honor SSG Lee Wolf either drove thru or just behind some rain. 8 of us joined the procession to the family cemetery in McDade. Once at the grave site a member of the Honor Guard asked if we could help by holding the 6 flags that were going to be presented to the family. Terry Ayers and myself were honored to help with the request. As an Army veteran it was a double honor for me. Thanks to my fellow PGR members for letting me have that privilege.

The weather was good for the 11 PGR members that were in attendance to Honor MSgt Irwin "Stoney" Ingalls. A family member to me that he was the last descendant of the Ingalls "Little House on the Prairie". When the service started the flag line was dismissed. The funeral director told me that he believed that the family was wanting us to go to the grave site. I stayed and fell in behind the lead car to the cemetery. The road was grass and not knowing the conditions since it had rained I pulled over at the entrance and stood by my bike with my flags flying to show respect for the family members as they drove by then I quietly put up the flags and drove away. Thanks to all that should up and was part of this memorial service.

The PGR was invited to Honor the service of Charles Brown Jr. gave to this Country while serving in the Army. 5 members braved the heat to stand the line in Taylor. Before we struck the flag line the funeral home asked if we could help carry Mr. Brown into the church. After helping moving Mr. Brown into the church we stood the flag line Once the family arrived, held a short prayer under a tree in front of the church and entered we broke down the flag line and quietly departed.

13 PGR members stood the line to Honor S/SGT Winston Johnson. It was an opportunity to support one of our own, Steve " Cannonball" Von Roeder. Thanks for those that were there to show the family that we appreciated the service that Mr. Johnson gave to this country.

10 members of the Austin PGR stood for Mr. Robert Bledsoe. After the flag line departed, myself and a friend of Mr. Bledsoe who is a member of the PGR from Northeast Texas accompanied the family to the gravesite and deported quietly. Thanks to those that stood the flag line and the family for letting us honor PFC Bledsoe.

Good turn out to honor SFC Juan Jose Velex. We had 9 form a flag line at the Church while 3 of our own and SFC Velex's son (one his fathers bike) escorted them from the funeral home to the Church. We all joined in together along with 3 friends of the family (on bikes) to the grave site where we established a second flag line.

9 patriots showed up to honor Aubrey Paige. Do to the high winds some choose to drive their cages. There was only one big flag bike in attendance and with the high wind chose not to participate in the procession to the grave site. Being that it was scheduled to be a flag line only we eroded on the side of safety. Thanks for all that showed up to pay their last respects.

15 Patriot Guard Riders attended the service of Jesse Campos. The church was kind enough to provide a room for us to get out of the heat. After the service the group made a short ride to the gravesite. We had a few incidents getting into the cemetery due to the road but we all help each other out with no injuries or damage. It was very hot with no shade or breeze to speak of. We broke the flag line a little quicker than we normally may have in the past to find the much needed shade. We found this to be a good spot to talk to the family and friends of Mr. Campos. The family invited us to join them for food and fellowship back at the church with several of the members taking them up on the offer. Thanks to all that participated.

Weather was good for the 6 Patriot Guard members that stood for Robert George Dudley Jr. Only had one big flag bike make the trip to CTVC. He received a nice surprise with a unexpected LEO escort all the way. Thanks to Charles for doing that and to the others for standing tall for Mr. Dudley Jr.
