    Confirmed mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the funeral service for Winston Johnson. Mr. Johnson served in the TX Army National Guard, enlisting in 1954 at 18 years old. He served with the 36th Infantry Division and is the uncle of Austin ride captain Steve von Roeder.

    Obituary has not yet been posted.

    Date/Time: Wednesday, 22 August 2018. Funeral service is at 10:00 am.

    Location: First Baptist Church of Georgetown, 1333 W University Ave, Georgetown, TX 78628. We will stage at the church.

    8:50 – 9:25 am – Staging
    9:25 am – Briefing
    9:30 am – Flag line

    Wx: 95 deg F, mostly sunny

    Notes: Bring a bottle of water for yourself and one for a friend. Sunscreen recommended. This mission is a flag line only. After the start of the funeral service we will strike the flag line and depart quietly.

    13 PGR members stood the line to Honor S/SGT Winston Johnson. It was an opportunity to support one of our own, Steve " Cannonball" Von Roeder. Thanks for those that were there to show the family that we appreciated the service that Mr. Johnson gave to this country.
