A. Martinez. The mission was somewhat out of the ordinary but the PGR participants performed flawlessly. The Martinez family was very appreciative of the respect and honor we showed their loved one. Great job by all, thank you for your participation.

September 22, 2018 at 11:29 pm in reply to: Andrew Joseph Smolen III, 32, US Army veteran, Georgetown, TX, 22 SEP 2018 #5205The GhostModeratorThanks to the 12 PGR Riders who attended the mission, especially two for their second mission of the day. Good turn out on an iffy day. The family thanked us for our presence. It was good to see Paige back on the flag line.
August 10, 2018 at 5:41 pm in reply to: Updated Timeline: Helping a Hero home dedication event, Georgetown, TX, 10 AUG 2018 #5181The GhostModeratorWell, once all the powers that be finally got things straight, the mission was fine. 10 bikes and the flag truck attended the home dedication and established a flagline on the sidewalk in front of the home. We had front row "seats" for Lee Greenwood's song. Thankfully only one politician spoke, Cruz, and he was mercifully short, only about 7 or 8 minutes. Once Sen. Cruz presented the keys to the home to Sgt. Ray and he and his family entered the home we departed. Special thanks to Flag Wrangler Don, he had by far the hardest task of the day.
July 31, 2018 at 10:49 pm in reply to: Franklin W. Denius, 93, US Army/WWII veteran, Austin, TX, 31 JUL 2018 #5175The GhostModerator17 bikes and cages with 17 Patriots, including a new rider from Cedar Park, believe his name was Sam. Heat and humidity was a factor with one and a half casualties. One rider had to get into the AC as he was overheating and Paige Seats fell again. Took him to BS&W, they could not treat so we called EMS and they hauled him off to the Emergency Room, possible concussion and Paige thinks he may have broken a hip.
Mission was fine, aftermath not so much. Thanks again to Flag Wrangler Don, by the time I arrived, he had flags flying from most entrance accesses. Great job by all. Thanks. The GhostModeratorI want to thank all the Patriot Guard members, both from Centex and Austin that were there for the bus escort for the Fort Hood troops. Along with Austin and Centex PGR were members of the Sun City Cruisers Motorcycle club for a total of 27 bikes. You guys far exceed my expectations and I sincerely thank you. All the comments I have received from SC residents was that we made an awesome showing.
June 2, 2018 at 6:34 pm in reply to: Weldon Whitten, 92, US Navy/WWII veteran, Georgetown, TX, 02 JUN 2018 #5146The GhostModerator14 souls, 10 bikes, 4 cages arrived to render honors for Boatswain's Mate 2nd class Whitten. We placed 4 flags at the entrance ways to the room where the memorial service was to be held and had a very nice, balanced flag line at the entrance. The family was a little late in organizing their entrance to the memorial room so flag line was held a little longer but not excessively so. The family was very appreciative of our attendance. Thanks to all who attended
May 18, 2018 at 7:22 pm in reply to: Jose “Joe” P. Leija, 81, US Army veteran, Lockhart, TX, 18 MAY 2018 #5123The GhostModerator7 Bikes and 2 cages made it to Lockhart for the services of Joe Leija Flag line worked well. Short procession to the cemetery; cemetery roads a bit of a challenge (rutted, unpaved, gravel) but all survived. Getting hot Ladies and Gentlemen, beware of the heat.
May 9, 2018 at 4:57 pm in reply to: Eddie Houston, 96, Unaccompanied US Army/WWII veteran, Austin, TX, 09 MAY 2018 #5113The GhostModeratorGood turnout for Mr. Houston's procession; 13 bikes and 14 patriots. Leading from Church to Travis County line was the Travis Sheriffs Dept, relieved at the Williamson County by that Sheriffs Depart who accompanied us to the cemetery even though the Bell County Sheriffs were waiting at the Bell County line. The hearse was the vintage (53?) Cadillac which we have seen before. Requested the hearse travel no faster that 60 MPH because of several big flag bikes; director replied "no problem, hearse is lucky to make 55). A good, safe mission.

March 5, 2018 at 8:22 pm in reply to: LTC Donald Pharr, 70, US Army (Ret), Georgetown, TX, 05 MAR 2018 #5084The GhostModeratorDifferent assortment of transportation today even though it was a beautiful day: 5 cages, 4 bikes: 13 souls. Also a little different was the fact that there were 2 services at the same time.
The Pharr family came out en masse to thank everyone in the flag line prior to the start of the service.
Thanks to all that attended and kudos to Don as usual.February 22, 2018 at 3:35 pm in reply to: SFC James Henry Graham, Jr., 87, US Army (Ret), WWII, Korea, Vietnam veteran, Georgetown, TX, 22 FEB #5078The GhostModeratorThree hardy souls stood the flag line honoring SFC Graham in conditions that were not ideal.
