Please check weather saturday morning because of rain chances. It you are uncomfortable riding in the rain, please consider attending in your cage. These soldiers must go no matter the weather. We can withstand a little water compared to what they are facing. Bring a rain jacket and show them we are proud of what they are doing!

Bregger, 80, USAF (Ret), Austin, TX, 01 OCT 09 #2210markwellsKeymasterThank you to all who stood for Lt Col Bregger today. Many of the friends and family walked the flag line expressing heartfelt thanks. One lady commented that they "felt so empowered" by our participation.
Lt Col Bregger's son Steve recently retired from the Air Force himself, and he told me his son is considering following his father and grandfather into the service. I'm glad they were both able to see that ordinary Americans who do not know this family were willing to give up a little of their day to show respect and gratitude for such commitment and sacrifice.

September 27, 2009 at 6:34 pm in reply to: SPC Jay Sevier, 28, US Army active duty, Austin, 24, 26 SEP 2009 #2206markwellsKeymasterThank you to the 21 folks who rode and stood for SPC Sevier. We had a lady rider up from Sequin on a Spyder with a very cool US Flag paint job and another who rode up from Houston. I know Centex was busy with missions yesterday; we missed the folks we usually get from up that way. Special thanks to flag wrangler Mark Brittain for the flags and water, as it was surprisingly warm and humid as the day progressed.
Also thanks to RC Chuck Murphy for a smooth mission & Sam Warren for helping set up the fine LEO support through Austin, Lockhart, Luling, and Gonzales. The funeral itself was pretty large, with a long procession (both in time and vehicles) down to the Yoakum cemetery.
We are forever grateful to warriors such as SPC Sevier who serve and protect our country. May he rest in peace. And may we bring some measure of comfort to his family by our presence.

Again, thanks for all you do.Hi Mr. James,
I was very good friends with Darryn Andrews. I am not certain which of these guys showed up, but THANK YOU so so so very much. I honestly didn't know what you guys did until this funeral- I know sad, huh? Anyhow- I now know and absolutely LOVE you guys. When I saw you I almost started crying there knowing that you have fought for my freedom as well. May God bless every single one of you.
markwellsKeymasterSteve: on behalf of the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), Chapter 915, Austin, thank you for providing ~ three dozen Patriot Guard Riders for the POW/MIA Recognition Ceremony at the Texas State Cemetery on 18 Sep 09. The ride-in was a tremendous start for the Recognition Ceremony, and having all of the PGRs forming a semi-circle with their flags behind the guests and dignitaries added a great deal to the ceremony.
An article has been submitted to Jim Boyd, Editor, Texas Vietnam Veteran News which will appear in our next edition.
Once again: thanks.

POW/MIA Recognition Ceremony CoordinatormarkwellsKeymasterthis was truely an honor to stand and remember those heroes who fought and endured for our freedoms.god bless them all.god bless pvt calvin whitlow
markwellsKeymasterGreat job by everyone at the POW/MIA ceremony. I was there to honor my Grandfather, Pvt Calvin Whitlow, WWII, Battle of the Bulge. He spent 9 months in a POW camp and 2 years recovering in a VA hospital. He never talked about it to anyone. Ceremonies like this help honor his and everyone elses sacrifice to keep our country free.
Thanks again and God Bless,
