    Austin Staging for: WWII Veteran Nicolas Velasquez, USA

    Date: Friday, 20 Mar 2009

    Location: Mission Serenity Chapel, 6204 S. 1st Street, Austin 78745

    Directions: South 1st St between Stassney on the N. & William Cannon on the S. map link: http://tinyurl.com/chcw3e

    Staging: We will stage at the funeral home at 0900 – 0915; Flag line to be in place no later than 0930 hours. Service begins at 1000 hrs.

    Wx: Forecast partly cloudy, Low of 57, High of 77

    Notes:
    Services are expected to be approximately 1 hour with burial immediately following at Assumption Cemetery, 3650 S. IH 35, also in South Austin. LEO will provide escort. Arrive with full fuel, fed and hydrated. Bring extra water.

    Mr. Velasquez served in the US Army in North Africa as a tank operator. Please remember that our mission is to honor this fallen soldier and pay our respects to the family. Stand tall and be proud as we salute an American hero.

    Thanks to all who turned out today (14 bikes). The family was very appreciative of all that were there.

    It was an honor to ride today with the PGR's. Thanks for welcoming me in. I look forward to meeting you guys in the future. Thanks to Johnny for the invitation. It was an honor to ride next to such a great man.
