Confirmed mission: The Tunnel to Towers Foundation will donate a mortgage-free Smart Home to catastrophically injured US Army veteran SPC Maggie Mae Bilyeu. The PGR has been invited to participate.
In early 2016, only a couple of months into her deployment to Afghanistan, Maggie was struck by a suicide bomber, leaving her critically injured, and killing two American soldiers and two American contractors. Maggie is an amputee and sustained multiple shrapnel wounds to her chest and torso, a broken leg, and numerous internal injuries as a result of the blast.
10:00 – 10:30 am – Staging
10:30 am – Briefing
KSU for the procession from the fire house to the home site at the direction of the organizers.
Wx: High 52F. Winds light and variable. Chance of rain 60%.
Notes: This is a law enforcement escorted procession from the fire station to the home site, about a 5 minutes ride. As T2T will has arranged an honor guard and staked about 30 US Flags staked at the site, PGR will NOT have a flag line at the site. Upon arrival at the home site we will join the general public in attendance for the duration of the ceremony.
The Austin PGR were in Lago Vista, TX today to escort SPC Maggie Mae Bilyeu to her new home. Maggie was struck by a suicide bomber in Afghanistan, leaving her critically injured. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation gave Maggie a new mortgage free home. Three PGR (David, Keith and Warren) braved the weather. It was cold with lots of rain. We got to meet Maggie (what a special person) she is.
