    Confirmed Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the funeral service for Mr. Vernon Coleman. Mr. Coleman served in the US Navy from May 1943 to May 1946. He was deployed to the Pacific Theater during WWII and left the Navy as a Seaman First Class.

    Date/Time: Saturday, 17 November 2018. Funeral service scheduled at 10 am.

    Location: Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1010 East 10th Street, Austin, TX 78702. We will stage at the church.

    Notes: Bring a bottle of water for yourself and one for a friend. This is a flag line only for the funeral service. At the conclusion of the service we will strike the flag line and depart quietly.

    Please attend to honor the service of this sailor who as a young man answered the call to defend his country.


    A big thank U to the 8 patriots that stood the flag line to honor this WWII Navy veteran. As is customary, Navy veterans stood on both sides of the church entrance doing all proud. One of the Navy escorts told how Mr. Coleman got blown off his destroyer but his foot caught in the side netting saving his life. I was told he wore his dog tags till the day he passed away.
    Thanks to Don for staking out additional flags ahead for those arriving early. They, along w the PGR, made for quite an impression.
