Confirmed mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in an event presented by US13.org to commemorate the one year anniversary of the loss of 13 US servicemembers attacked during the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.  US13.org, based in Austin, was created to memorialize those who lost their lives that day while serving their county.  Five of the gold star families of these heroes will be on-hand for the event.

I was lucky enough to be the Ride Captain to Honor the US13.Expectations were high about the amount of Patriots that would show up to show respect for the sacrifice that the service men and women along with the families gave for this country. I lost count to the final number but it was at least 36 bikes. The organizer (Kami) got us started with a brief comment to get us even more excited about why we were there. We made the short trip to Vincents on the Lake with no incident so that we all had the opportunity to stay for the all the festivities.

May God Bless the Families, those that were there and those that could not!
