Confirmed Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the funeral and interment services for Mr. Sherman Hugh Burleson. Mr. Burleson served in the US Army from 1967 to 1970, including a year in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged as an E-4.
9:00 am – 9:20 am Staging
9:20 am – Briefing
9:30 am – Flag line
Wx: Hi 86 deg, partly cloudy, 20% rain chance
Notes: Stay hydrated! Bring a bottle of water for yourself and one for a friend. Following the funeral service we will stand by to join the law enforcement escorted procession from the church to Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville where we will form a second flag line for the interment service.
Note to self: Do not volunteer to be Ride Captain for a mission in Austin when UT is at home, there is a foot race downtown and F1 is here! Otherwise, 9 flags in flagline at church, 6 bikes from church to cemetery with one bike at cemetery. Not a bad turnout. Thanks to all who showed up and a special thanks to Don for flag wrangling.
