    Confirmed mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the funeral service for SFC Kenneth Paul Slagle, III. SFC Slagle served in the US Army for 21 years & 7 months.

    Date/Time: Friday, 26 July 2019. Funeral service at 10:00 am

    Location: Camp Mabry at the LT Gen Thomas S. Bishop All Faiths Chapel. We will stage at the chapel parking lot.

    Directions: Enter Camp Mabry off of West 35th Street at Maintenance Drive. At the main gate identify yourself as PGR attending the SFC Slagle funeral and follow the route in the map link to the vicinity of the chapel. Park at the direction of the Ride Captain.

    Timeline:
    8:50 – 9:20 am – Staging
    9:20 am – Briefing
    9:30 am – Flag line

    Wx: Hi 93 deg, mostly sunny

    Notes: Bring water for yourself and for a friend. Sunscreen recommended. Following the funeral service we will strike the flag line a depart quietly. Burial will be at CTSVC in Killeen at 1 pm the same day. Centex PGR will be in attendance. There will be no procession from Austin to Killeen.

    A friendly reminder if planning on attending the flag line for SFC Slagle on Camp Mabry; military installations require motorcycle riders to wear a helmet, gloves, long sleeves and long pants and I think over the ankle boots. Unless things have changed very recently, unless you are wearing the above mentioned gear, you will not be allowed entry.

    5 Patriot Guard + 4 Combat Veterans Association were in attendance for SGT Slagle's service. At the last minute, the family and funeral home made arrangements for a LEO escort to CTMVC. Because none of the PGR had planned on escorting SGT Slagle, the CVM were there (including SGT Slagle's son) to do the honors. Thanks to those that braved Austin traffic to attend the mission.
