Gunnery SGT, Gary Carruth, USMC Ret.
The Patriot Guard has been invited by the family to stand and honor Gary Carruth for funeral services on Tuesday (July 30) at Sunset Funeral Home at 12:00pm, with interment services and miltary honors to follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:15pm. Gary retired from the Marines after 17 years as a Gunnery Sergeant, during which time he served in one tour in Afghanistan and two tours in Iraq, where is was awarded serveral medals and the Purple Heart. For those following the news, Gary was killed last week in a car accident on I-10, where his daughter was also killed and his two other children were taken by Airlife to University Hospital.
