    Confirmed Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the funeral service for Mr. Saadi A. Ferris II.  Mr. Ferris served in in the US Marine Corps 1950 – 1952 and saw combat in the Korean war.  He was discharged as a PFC.  He then had a distinguished career in law enforcement, including as an officer for the Austin Police Department and as the Chief of Police for League City, Texas.

    Date/Time: Tuesday, 06 July 2021. Funeral service begins at 1 pm.

    Location: Cook Walden Funeral Home, 2900 Williams Dr, Georgetown, TX 78628. We will stage at the funeral home.

    11:50 – 12:20 pm – Staging
    12:20 pm – Briefing
    12:30 pm – Flag line

    Wx: High around 85F. Winds SSE at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 40%

    Notes: This mission is a flag line prior to the funeral and a law enforcement escorted procession up to CTSVC in Killeen for a 3 pm interment service. Centex PGR will attend the cemetery portion.

    Eight Patriots attended the mission for Mr. Ferris in somewhat iffy weather. Mr. Ferris’s daughter took time from her other responsibility’s to come over to our staging area to thank us for being there to honor her father. Thanks to all who attended and as usual, Don did an excellent job with the flags.
