Confirmed San Antonio Mission
Friday Feb, 11th 2011
The Patriot Guard has been invited by the Soltero family to stand and honor Spc. Omar Soltero (Army), who died from wounds sustained by an improvised explosive device in Wardak province, Afghanistan. Spc. Soltero was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 4th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Polk, La. At this time a short service and interment will be held at Ft. Sam Houston on Friday (Feb 11) at 12:00pm. The Patriot Guard has been asked to escort Spc. Soltero from Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio (departing at 11:30am) to Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery, where a flag line will be formed.
Due to policy changes, these times are tentative, but I have been informed by Ft. Sam Houston that unless something unforeseen comes up, this will be the times for the escort and service. If there are any changes I will post an update immediately, otherwise the times and staging location below will be followed. If available, please try to attend to honor one of our local Fallen Heroes and help support the family during their time of loss. Thank you.
