Confirmed San Antonio Mission
Gary T. Wiley
Army Veteran – 01 Feb 2012 – New Braunfels, Tx
The Patriot Guard has been invited by the family to stand and honor Gary Wiley (Army), on Wendnesday (Feb 01), at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels at 11:00am. Gary is a Vietnam Veteran, a member of the PGR, and also the brother of one of our RCs for the Austin area. Mission request from the family is for a flag line only prior to the funeral services, no interment is planned as his children will spread his ashes at locations of his requesting. If available, please try to attend to honor one of our local Veterans that has stood with us, and help support the family during their time of loss. Thank you.
Gary T. Wiley was 62 years old and served in Vietnam from Jan. 1969 to Jan. 1970. Every time he would see the Patriot Guard doing a mission he would call me and tell me about it and how proud he was of what we do. Last summer when the San Antonio PGR did an Airport recovery at the New Braunfels Airport he was there by the front entrance to the Airport property and told me he saluted every single bike as they rolled out. He wanted the Website so he could sign up. He did sign up but I don’t think he ever actually made a mission, but his heart and soul was there I can promise you that.
