Confirmed San Antonio Mission
Escort Of Travelling Vietnam Memorial Wall – 30 Jan
The Patriot Guard has been requested to help escort the Travelling Vietnam Memorial Wall – The Wall That Heals, as it comes in to San Antonio and to Lackland Air Force Base. This is a bit different request than what the PGR in our area is used to, but just about every major city in the United States that this memorial comes into is welcomed and arrives with a PGR escort, so there is no reason not to continue that tradition. This will be a a straight-forward mission, with LEO escort, starting at the Flying J truckstop (I-10 & Foster Rd), and travel down I-10 to Hwy 90, then exit Acme Rd to the Lackland Air Force Base Gate. If available, please try to attend to help welcome this memorial, that represents and remembers those that stood for us, into San Antoino. Thank you.
Information regarding The Wall That Heals can be found at: http://www.vvmf.org/twth
** Important Note ** Please be aware that escort will end at the Lackland Air Force Base Gate, for the PGR. Any rider that wishes to continue on to the Air Force base grounds with the memorial truck will only be allowed admittance with military identification only, which will be checked at the gate.
