Memorial Day commemoration, Granger, TX, 29 May 2023

Confirmed Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in a community Memorial Day commemoration event at Granger High School. The event will held outdoors on Memorial Day. We plan to have a flag line in place for the 30 minute program of patriotic music, the pledge, reading of the names of Granger’s lost warriors, and the playing of taps.

Date/Time: Monday, 29 May 2022. The event begins at 8:30 am.

Staging location: Granger Food Mart Texaco, 309 S Commerce St, Granger, TX 76530

Timeline:
7:45 – 8:10 am – Staging
8:10 am – Briefing
8:15 am – KSU for the 4 minute ride to the school.
8:25 am – Flag line in place for the event

Wx: Mostly cloudy early. Scattered thunderstorms developing later in the day. High 86F.

Notes: After arrival at the school we will dismount and form a flag line for the duration of the program.

It was our privilege to once again participate in the Granger Memorial Day Ceremony. We had nine riders on hand, including a first timer (Doug). The event was well attended by people of all ages and was closed by a beautiful rendition of Taps provided by a volunteer trumpeter from Bugles Across America.

Thanks again to Don for bringing the flags and to all who attended. What a great way to start this day.
