Confirmed mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the funeral service for Melvin Lee Mason. Mr. Mason served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953 including in the Korean Conflict. Other details of his military service were not provided.

Great turnout today for this mid-day summer east side Austin mission. Thank you to the 13 patriots who came to the church to honor Mr. Mason. Shade was here and there, and those unlucky enough to be in the sun had offers from those in the shade to occasionally swap places. The flag line ran about 20 minutes over as the family arrived late to the church.

Thank you again to Don for wrangling flags for me. It was good to see Tom Goldenschue at a mission again, too.

RIP Melvin Lee Mason.
