    The family of Lt Col David Doherty has requested the participation of the PGR in his funeral service. Col Doherty enlisted in the USAF in 1954 and served two tours in Vietnam, one in Thailand, and the invasion of Grenada. He retired at Bergstrom Air Force Base after 34 years of decorated service.

    Date/Time: Monday, 24 October 2011. Funeral services scheduled for 5 pm.

    Location: St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 5455 Bee Caves Road, West Lake Hills, TX. We will stage at the church.

    Directions: The church property is not visible from Bee Caves Rd. From the intersection of Bee Caves Rd and Hwy 360, travel east on Bee Caves to the second traffic light and turn south at Redbud Trail. Follow the short road to the church parking lot. Map link: tinyurl.com/StJohnNeumannAustin

    3:45 – 4:15 pm staging
    4:15 pm briefing and flag line

    Wx: Partly cloudy, low 63, high 85 deg. Please remember to bring drinking water.

    Notes: This will be a flag line only at the church. Col Doherty will be cremated and inurned at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Much thanks to Bob Binkley for the recon of the church today.

    Col Doherty’s daughter Brenda reports that her father respected and believed in the PGR and it's protection of soldiers and their families. Please make plans to show our respect and gratitude for his long service to our nation.

    Church staging update: Upon entering the church property you will see a banner on the left. Take the left just past the banner. You will be headed right for the building where the service will be held.

    The family is has graciouly invited any PGR member to come into the memorial service. if you get there early they have his decorations on display. As soon as everyone has entered the service, we'll collapse the flag line and depart.
