Confirmed Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the memorial service for Joseph McKinley Gore.  Mr. Gore entered the USMC at age 20 in 2009 and served 9 years, including deployment to OEF.  He left the Corps as a Sergeant.

An obituary has not yet been posted.

Date/Time: Thursday, 30 October 2025.  Memorial service begins at 11 am.

Location: VFW post 6115, 118 Sayers Rd, Elgin, TX 78621.  We will stage at the hall.  Map link.

Notes:  This is a flag line only prior to the celebration of life service.  After the start of the memorial service we will strike the flag line and depart quietly.

On what started out as a very cool early morning, 15 patriots set out for Elgin VFW to stand a flag line to honor a fallen Marine. Sgt. Joseph Gore. A 9 year veteran that served in multiple locations including OEF (Operation Enduring Freedom ) This being a weekday, we were all very pleased with the PGR turnout. Thank you so much for showing up & showing your patriotism. It meant a great deal to the family. You guys are the best.

In talking with the family, we learned he was a valued friend & fellow Marine. Folks came from as far away as Florida. And a Marine unit showed up to preform Taps & flag folding. They even helped set up the chairs for the service.
