Riders, this is our second mission for Saturday. It is possible to attend the prior one in Austin and head over to Elgin in time for the flag line here. Please make every effort to attend one or both of these missions.
Confirmed Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the funeral service for Mr. Howard "StickMan" Prinz. Mr. Prinz served in the US Navy from 1978 to 1982. He was an electricians mate and left the service with the rank of Seaman. He was a proud USN veteran and biker.
11:50 am – 12:20 pm- Staging
12:20 pm – Briefing
12:30 pm – Flag line
Wx: Hi 70 deg, partly cloudy
Notes: Bring a bottle of water for yourself and one for a friend. This is a flag line only at the funeral home. Be advised a visitation will occur 11 – 1 pm so friends and family will be present during our staging period. After the start of the funeral service we will strike the flag line and depart quietly.
We had 13 riders in the flag line on a overcast and increasingly chilly day in Elgin. Special thanks to the half dozen or so riders who arrived from the earlier Austin mission just in time for the flag line in Elgin. It was good to see Hadley, Juan, and Keith Alexander again also. And flag wrangler Don Ferguson, what can I say but thank you again.
Hope all made it home safely and were able to get warm. RIP, Howard StickMan Prinz. May God be with you, your family and friends.
