    Confirmed mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the funeral service for Mr. Glenn E. "Bud" Simmons. Mr. Simmons served in the US Air Force from 1946 – 1950, leaving the service with the rank of Sergeant. He then spent 34 years with the Texas Department of Public Safety as a peace officer and inspector.     Timeline:
    8:45 am – 9:15 am Staging
    9:15 am – Briefing
    9:30 am – Flag line

    Wx: Hi 85 deg, partly cloudy.

    Notes: Start hydrating the day before and bring a bottle of water for yourself and one for a friend. Arrive fully fueled. Following the funeral service we will join an LEO escorted procession from the funeral home to the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen for a scheduled 12 noon burial service. Upon arrival at the cemetery we will fall under the direction of the Centex PGR ride captain.

    8 bikes, 2 cages, 7 state police cars combined to make a good mission. Not without drama though; one flag bearer (89) tripped and fell and another's bike completely died. Whole immediate family of deceased came out and shook everyones hand before the service started. Awesome!
