    Confirmed mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the funeral service for Mr. Elward Clarence Mowdy. Mr. Mowdy served in the US Navy from 1956 to 1960. He was a Hospitalman.

    Date/Time: Saturday, 21 September 2019. Funeral service at 3 pm.

    Location: Bastrop Providence Funeral Home, 2079 Highway 71 East, Bastrop, Texas 78602. We will stage at the funeral home.

    Wx: High 94 F, partly cloudy, 20% rain chance

    Notes: Bring a bottle of water for yourself and one for a friend. This is a flag line only at the funeral home. Following the start of the service we will strike the flag line a depart quietly.

    Seven Patriot Guard Riders showed for this mission. There were 3 bikes and 3 cages. Nicki arrived early and had flags staked at the entrance. It was hot and sticky but fortunately we were able to keep the flag line in the shade. We were acknowledged by nearly every arriving guest. Mrs. Mowdy and her son both expressed their sincere appreciation for our participation in this memorial service. RIP Sailor.
