Confirmed Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the memorial service for Chief Petty Officer Michael Thomas Anderson. CPO Anderson enlisted in the US Navy in February 1975. He served on the USS Kitty Hawk and the USS Oldendorf as an Intelligence Specialist. He served in the States, Korea, Japan and Hawaii during the Cold War, and while he did not see combat, his brother reports that Mike had flipped off the Soviet Navy on one or two occasions. He retired in 1995.
Plans are for this sailor to be returned to Hawaii and be buried at sea.
The PGR were in Round Rock Texas today to stand up for Chief Petty Officer Michael Thomas Anderson. Mike (as he liked to be called) served in the US Navy for 20 years serving on the USS Kitty Halk and USS Oldendorf as an Intelligence Specialist. He served in Korea, Japan and Hawaii. The family came out and thanks us for standing up for Mike. We had 15 riders show up on a cool start and warmer at the time of the service.
