Confirmed Mission: Donald J. Jurkschat, 63, US Navy, Vietnam Veteran
The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family to participate in the funeral and interment service of Donald J. Jurkschat, 63. He served in the Navy from 1968 – 1972 as an electrical engineer and was a Viet Nam veteran.Date/Time: Tuesday, July 10th, 2012 12:00pm
Location: Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 140 Tahitian Dr, Bastrop Texas
Directions: In Bastrop Tx at the intersection of Hwy 71E and Hwy 95, go east on Hwy 71 for 1.4 miles to the light at Tahitian Dr. (Hwy 150 comes in from the left). Turn south on Tahitian Dr. and the church is down the street a short distance on the right.

Donald J. Jurkschat, US Navy, Vietnam Veteran, Bastrop, TXThe family of Navy Vietnam Veteran Donald Jurkschat has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Interment of their Loved One. Austin PGR is coordinating the Funeral Service in Bastrop (see below) and CenTex will administer the Interment Service.
INTERMENT (See below for Funeral Service Information)
Date: Tuesday, 10 Jul 12
Staging Time: 1445
Staging Location: The cul-de-sac between the Walk of Heroes and the Memorial Shelter at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, TX 195 just south of Killeen, TX tinyurl.com/CTSVCTX.
Briefing: 1450 – Once cleared, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags and await arrival of the family and Veteran Donald J. Jurkschat's arrival from Bastrop, TX.
WX: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 91. Calm wind becoming north northeast around 5 mph in the afternoon.
Notes:
1. We expect the procession to arrive around 1530. Please be on time for staging.
2. Hydrate well the night prior, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.

5 Hardy riders along with 4 cages braved the weather to honor Mr. Jurkschat. We established a flag line and held until the service started. The cages departed and the riders went for vittles and gas before accompanying the deceased from bastrop to CTSVC in Killeen, where the CenTex PGR assumed control. Thanks to those that ignored the weather and showed up. -
