Colonel (Ret) John William Griffith, 80
USAF, Vietnam VeteranThe family of COL John William Griffith has requested the participation of the PGR in his funeral services. He joined the Air Force in 1951 and retired in 1975. His many assignments included Tactical Instructor at Lackland AFB, Squadron Commander of a Combat Flying Squadron (Antique Airlines) in the Vietnam War, Pilot, Instructor Pilot, and Flight Examiner of Single and Multi-engine Conventional and Jet Aircraft. He was decorated with numerous medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross, Bronze Star and Combat Readiness.

Staging Location: The cul-de-sac between the Walk of Heroes and the Memorial Shelter at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery located on Hwy 195 just south of Killeen, TX.
Briefing: 1210 – Once cleared, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags and await the arrival of COL Williams and his family.
WX: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Cloudy, with a high near 75. Southeast wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
Note: Hydrate well the night before, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.

At the request of the family both motorcycles (Bob & Me) at the service rode escort behind the coach to Killeen. Thanks to the CenTex PGR for honoring him at the burial ceremony at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
