    Confirmed Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the memorial service for Col Henry Lee Graves, Jr.  Col Graves served 26 years in the USAF, 1969 – 1995, including deployment to the Vietnam war.  His final assignment was as base commander at Bergstrom AFB in Austin, Colonel Lee Graves turned out the lights and gave the keys to the City of Austin for the future home of Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.  The end of an era, the 924th Fighter Group  “Outlaws” left the building.

    An obituary has not yet been posted.

    Date/Time: Saturday, 12 June 2021. Funeral service begins at 2 pm, with a flyover salute at 3 pm.

    Notes: This is a flag line only mission.  After the start of the service we will strike the flag line and depart quietly.

    A typically warm summer afternoon for the 10 patriots who stood for Col Graves. It was a well attended service, and we received many appreciative comments from family and friends.

    Thank you again, Don, for doing a nice job of staking the flags in advance and leaving them in place for the fly over salute at the conclusion of the service.

    RIP, Col Lee Graves. May God receive you with open arms and bring comfort to your family.
