Line of Duty Death, Killeen, TXThe family of Officer Bobby Hornsby has requested the presence and participation of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Funeral Service and Interment of their Loved One.
On July 14, 2013, Robert Layden Hornsby was heroically called home. Robert had an infectious personality. He was selfless and always put others before himself up to his last breath. Following his desire to help people, his community, and have a career his children would be proud of Bobby joined the Killeen Police Department in Jan 09. In Dec 12 one of his career passions was realized when he was selected to serve on the Killeen Police Department SWAT Team. He recently received his Intermediate license. Briefing: 0900 +/-
Flagline Establishment: 0920 +/- Once the Funeral Service begins, we will strike the flagline and prepare to participate in the procession to the Killeen City Cemetery.
WX: Partly sunny, with a high near 92. Heat index values as high as 97. Light east wind becoming east southeast 5 to 10 mph in the morning. A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 PM.
Notes:
1. Be at staging ON TIME and topped off.
2. BE PREPARED FOR LAST MINUTE CHANGES & MOVEMENT. We are here to support the family and the Killeen Police Department, their wishes come first!
3. Marebear will be asking ALL CAGES to accompany her EARLY to the cemetery to prepare for arrival of the procession.
4. Hydrate well prior, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.
