MSG Joseph V. Powell, US Army (Ret), Viet Nam Veteran, Killeen, TX
The Family of Master Sergeant Joseph V. Powell has requested the presence and participation of the Patriot Guard Riders in the Funeral and Interment of their Loved One on Friday, 02 Sep 11 at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Killeen with interment to follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
Master Sergeant Powell retired from the US Army in 1991. He served during the Vietnam conflict and received the Meritorious Service Medal. He was deeply committed to his fellow service members, especially to those who had faced and were struggling to deal with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Following his retirement from the US Army he completed his Bachelors Degree and then completed a Masters in Social Work. He then committed the rest of his professional life to working with veterans and wounded warriors at the Austin Veterans Center.

Once briefed and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we take our stations with flags and await the arrival of MSG Powell.
