MAJ Lawrence D Zavoina, 82, US Army
Retired, Vietnam Veteran, Harker Heights, TXThe family of Major Lawrence Zavoina has requested the presence and participation of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Funeral Service and Interment of their Loved One.
Larry served his country for 23 years in the Army. He enlisted after graduating from St. John's High School in McAlester, OK and worked his way from the rank of Private to Major. He served in Vietnam and fourteen other duty stations. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 1960 device, Vietnam Service Medal with a Silver and Bronze Service Star and Oak Leaf Cluster. After retirement Larry worked for the City of Killeen for 26 years, retiring in 1997. Many will know Larry for his work at St Joseph's Church where he has served many years as an usher at Saturday services and leading the rosary and as a Eucharistic Minister.
