CONFIRMED MISSION – (PLEASE READ THE GREEN!)
Detective Charles "Chuck" Dinwiddie, 47, Killeen Police Department, Line of Duty Death, Killeen, TXThe family of Detective Charles "Chuck" Dinwiddie has requested the presence and participation of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Funeral Service and Interment of their Loved One.
Killeen Police Detective Charles "Chuck" David Dinwiddie, was killed in the line of duty while serving on the Killeen Police Department Swat Team, passing away on May 11, 2014. Charles joined the Killeen Police Department in 1996 and served for 18 years, working in the Patrol Division, the Criminal Investigation Division, Crimes Against Property Section, Special Investigation Division and most recently, working undercover in the Special Missions Unit. He was a Field Training Officer, a member of the Bicycle Unit, the Tactical Response Unit, and the Department's Honor Guard. He was a Master Operator with the SWAT Team, on which he served for 15 years. He was the recipient of the 14-year Safe Driving Award,15-year Service Award and earned a Master Peace Officer Certification. In 2009, he was awarded the Post 223 American Legion's Officer of the Year. Briefing: 0900 +/-
Flagline Establishment: 0920 +/- Once the Funeral Service begins, we will strike the flagline and prepare to participate in the procession to the Killeen City Cemetery.
WX: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. South wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Notes:
1. Be at staging ON TIME and topped off.
2. EXPECT LAST MINUTE CHANGES & MOVEMENT. We are here to support the family and the Killeen Police Department, their wishes come first!
3. Marebear will be asking ALL CAGES to accompany her EARLY to the cemetery to prepare for arrival of the procession.
4. Hydrate well prior, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.
