The Family of Lovey Childs has requested the presence and participation of the Patriot Guard Riders in the
Funeral and Interment of their Loved One on Thursday, 9 Feb 12, at Sheppard Funeral Home Chapel, Copperas
Cove, Texas 76522 with interment to follow at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
Lovey served 23½ years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Command Sergeant Major. During his military career,
he earned several medals and decorations, including the Meritorious Service Medal w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster,
the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Army Commendation Medal w/2 Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal w/Silver, 2 Loops, Army of
Occupation (Berlin), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/3 Bronze Service Stars, NCO
Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 3), Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross Unit Citation (w/Palm),
Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal.

to participate in the procession bringing Lovey to his final resting place at Central Texas State Veterans

Staging Location: The cul-de-sac between the Walk of Heroes and the Memorial Shelter at Central Texas State
Veterans Cemetery,located on Hwy 195 just south of Killeen, TX.
Once briefed and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will take our stations with flags and await the
arrival of Lovey.
WX: Mostly Cloudy and with a low/high of near 47/60. Winds from the ENE 6 MPH.
1. Arrive at staging on time and topped off.
2. Please arrive hydrated, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.
