    CONFIRMED CENTEX MISSION
    CPT Roger D. Zehr, US Army, Retired, Vietnam Veteran, Copperas Cove, TX

    The family of Captain Roger Zehr has requested the presence and participation of the Patriot Guard Riders in the Funeral and Interment of their Loved One on Monday, 9 Jan 12.

    Captain Zehr served in the United States Army until his retirement in 1968. While serving he was a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. He received a Purple Heart during Vietnam and was a lifetime member of the Purple Heart Association. He also received the Flying Medal with thirty Oak Leaf Clusters. He was a member of VFW Post 8577 in Copperas Cove and American Legion Post 0345 as well as the 114th White Knight Association.

    FUNERAL SERVICE

    Flagline Establishment: 0950 +/- Once the Funeral Service has begun, we will strike the flagline and prepare to participate in the procession to CTSVC.

    INTERMENT

    For those able to participate only in the interment portion of this mission, the following is submitted:

    Staging Time: 1105

    Staging Location: The cul-de-sac between the Walk of Heroes and the Memorial Shelter at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, located on Hwy 195 just south of Killeen, TX.

    Briefing: 1110 – Upon clearance, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags and await arrival of the procession.

    WX: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a high near 47. North northwest wind between 15 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

    Notes:

    1. Please arrive at Funeral Service Staging topped off as we are invited to participate in the procession to the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

    2. Hydrate well the night before, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.
