10:30 am – Flag line
Wx: Showers in the morning, then cloudy in the afternoon. High 78 F. Winds SSE at 15 to 25 mph.
Notes: Maintain social distancing protocols. After the start of the funeral service we will strike the flag line and stand by to join the LEO escorted procession to the Lawhorn Cemetery just east of Elgin where we will form a second flag line for the interment service.
10 Patriot Guard members, including two new attendees, participated in the flag line portion of the mission to honor Spec 4 Botkin. It was also satisfying that friends and members of his classic car club brought Mr. Botkins car to the service. Thanks to all who attended and especially to those that rode their bikes in iffy weather.
