We sadly report that US Marine Captain Joshua Meadows was killed in action in Afghanistan on 05 September. Capt Meadows is from Elgin, TX.

According to the Elgin Courier, he was stationed at Camp Pendleton and served as a helicopter pilot before his most recent deployment as part of a special forces team.

This is now a confirmed PGR mission. However, Capt Meadows services will be held near Midland, Texas. West Texas PGR will be handling the mission, and the most recent info we have is that Capt Meadows will be returned to Texas at Midland International Airport possibly Saturday, 12 September.

We will post additional mission details when we learn of them. For now we will leave this mission thread in our Watch List forum, as there may at some point be a memorial service held in Elgin.

Please continue to keep Capt Meadows friends and family in your prayers, and thank God that there are men such as this willing to protect the USA with their lives.

Memorial Services will be Tuesday Sept. 15th at the Commemorative Air Force Museum, (CAF) at 2:00 PM, Wright Drive, Midland International Airport.

Staging- kick stands up at 1:15 pm at the Permian Basin Vietnam Veterans Memorial.

Airport Arrival:

Capt. Joshua Meadows will arrive at Midland International Airport at approximately 10:00 AM Sunday Sept. 13th. He will be arriving on a military flight, subject to be 30 minutes early or late.

Change of staging area – now need to be at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home, 3800 N. Big Spring Street, Midland, TX at 1:00 pm.

Capt. Meadows will now be escorted to the CAF.
