    Confirmed Mission:
    The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the service to honor James T. Vaughn 86, United States Air Force. Jim served in WWII and Korea and achieved the rank of Technical Sergeant (E-6). He was also an employee of the City of Austin Police Dept until 1977, then served as Sergeant for the Brackenridge Hospital Police Dept til 1991.

    Date/Time: Wednesday, Apr 15th, 2015 1:00pm

    Location: All Faith of the Pines Funeral Home, 110 American Legion Rd, Smithville Tx 78957

    Directions: We will stage at the Funeral Home. From the intersection of Hwy 71 E and Hwy 95 in Bastrop, go east on 71 for about 11miles. As you are arriving in Smithville and the airport is on your right, take the exit on the right for Hwy 95 and turn right along side the airport. Funeral Home is on the left at the intersection of Hwy 95 and CR 230, before crossing the river bridge.

    11:45am – 12:15pm Staging
    12:15pm – Mission Briefing
    12:30pm – Flag Line at Ride Captains Discretion

    Wx: Lo- 61 Hi- 80, 10% Chance of showers. ( KVUE Wx)

    Notes: Start hydrating the day before and bring a bottle of water for yourself and one for a friend. Fuel is available in Bastrop (Bucee’s) on 71/95, and in Smithville.
    Once the service begins at 1:00pm, we will strike the flag line and depart quietly.
    There will be no cemetery service or procession.

    Thanks to all who attended to honor Jim Vaughn today. We had 14 bikes, 17 people including our first mission rider!
    The family told me two different times about how much they appreciated our being there for them during this time.
    Hope all made it home safely.
