The Aguilar FamilyOctober 30, 2014 at 2:24 am #4584mototerryModeratorEight members of the Patriot Guard Riders answered the family's request to honor Alejandro Aguilar. This was the second time this family has requested the Patriot Guard Riders. In 2009 SGT Matthew Thomas, husband of Mr. Aguilar's granddaughter Cynthia was killed in an automobile accident while on active duty at Ft. Bragg North Carolina. SGT Thomas, 82nd Airborne was just a few days away from what would have been his second deployment to Afghanistan. At the request of Mrs. Thomas the PGR participated in the recovery at ABIA, the funeral in Lockhart, and the internment at Fort Sam Houston. I was told today by Mrs. Thomas it was that experience that moved the family to request the presence of the PGR to honor their beloved WW II Veteran Alejandro Aguilar. The honor was ours.
