    Confirmed Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the funeral and interment services for Dr. August Joseph “AJ” Sherman.  Dr. Sherman served in the USAF for two years.  He was a dentist when he entered the service and left as a captain with the 509th Bomb Wing.

    Date/Time: Thursday, 09 January 2025.  Funeral Mass begins at 10 am.

    Location: St Helen Catholic Church, 2700 E. University, Georgetown, TX. We will stage at the church.

    Timeline:
    9:00 – 9:20 am – Staging
    9:20 am – Briefing
    9:30 am – Flag Line

    Wx: Freezing rain early…changing to rain in the afternoon. High 37F. Chance of precip 90%.

    Notes: After the start of the funeral service we will relocate to the nearby Our Lady of the Rosary cemetery where we will have a second flag line for the interment service immediately following the mass.

    Austin PGR formed a Flag Line in Georgetown, Texas today to honor Dr. August Joseph Sherman. Sherman went to the University of Texas School of Dentistry. After school he join the USAF and serve as a Dentis. August left the Air Force with the rank of Captain. AJ Sherman practiced for 59 years in Dentistry. We had 8 PGR standing in the Flag Line on a cold day. Dr Sherman was 90 years old.
