June 22, 2017 at 12:01 am #4963mototerryModeratorTen members of the PGR honored Mr. Arthur Haywood in the flag line at the church. Eight were able to ride in procession to the cemetery. It was a special ceremony with full Military Honors. Mr. Haywood's earthly remains were carried the final quarter mile in a horse drawn hearse followed by a riderless horse and a honor guard from the Camp Mabry Buffalo Soldiers Company A 9th Cavalry. Thanks to all who stood for Mr. Haywood. Special thanks to Flag Wrangler Don Ferguson and Elgin PD. Note from Elgin Funeral Home Director Joshua Hausladen: "Everything turned out great! Thank you all for a job well done. The family was singing the praises of all those involved. I am very honored and proud to be able to work with all of you. Thanks again."
