    Short Notice Confirmed Mission

    The family of Anslemo Vasquez has requested the participation of the PGR in his funeral and interment services. Mr. Vasquez served in the USMC, 1956 – 1962, and left the service as a Corporal. He is the grandfather of our own Max Vasquez.

    Date/Time: Tuesday, 03 January 2012. Funeral Mass scheduled for 1 pm.

    Location: St Mary Catholic Church, 205 W. Pecan Street, Lockhart, TX. We will stage at the church.

    Directions: Traveling southbound on Hwy 183, make a right (west) turn on the first street (Pecan) at the end of the flyover. The church is 3 blocks down on your right.

    11:50 am – 12:20 pm
    12:20 pm briefing and flag line

    Wx: Sunny, Low 27, high 63 deg.

    Notes: Please arrive fed, fueled, and hydrated. Blacks BBQ is one block from the church. Following the funeral there will be a LEO escorted procession to St Mary Cemetery in Lockhart for the burial.

    Nice turnout today. Thanks to the 26 riders who came to honor Mr. Vasquez as his family laid him to rest. We had one first time rider (Steve), Jack came up from San Antonio, and Pacman and Steve Cole rode down from Centex, which was cool. "Pastor Rookie" provided our prayer at the end of the briefing.

    A special thanks to Juan for handling the arrangements for the bikes in the procession from the funeral home to the church and from there to the cemetery.

    I spoke with the driver of the family's limo who told me they could not stop commenting on how wonderful it was to see the flag line at the church as they pulled up front.

    Farewell, Cpl Anslemo Vasquez, may you rest in peace.
