    “Final Itinerary – American Widow Project Send-off, San Marcos, TX”

    The American Widow Project RV, wrapped in the names of fallen heroes from OIF and OEF, will depart San Marcos on its multi-state journey. They will be visiting other war widows to support them and to build awareness for the organization and their mission. The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in this send-off.

    From
    I-35 exit 205, route 80, go west approx. 0.8 mi. Building is on the right, three big flag poles and large digital message board out front. Park in the north end of parking lot.

    time: 11:10 – 11:40 am.

    11:45 am, for the short ride over to the park.

    Wx:
    Partly Cloudy, morning low 60, high 83.

    Notes: We will
    establish a flag line at the park, and at the conclusion of the ceremony provide a motorcycle accompaniment onto northbound I-35. LEO assistance is planned.

    Austin Staging: Spc. Brandon Meyer memorial portrait dedication, Texas State Capitol

    Spc. Brandon Meyer grew up in Canyon, TX, and was KIA in Iraq in January 2008. The PGR has been invited to participate in the placement of his

    portrait in the Capitol Rotunda. This will be similar to the portrait

    presentation made for the Zimmerman family a couple of months ago.

    Date: Tuesday, Feb 24, 2009
    Time: 11:00 am
    Location: West side of Capitol at the
    corner of West 12th and Colorado.

    Brief: 11:15 am
    Flagline will be formed in front of the Capitol Building on the South

    Steps at 11:30 am. Anticipate flagline to be in place for ~ 45 minutes.

    Wx Forecast: Currently forecasted for Lo of 50, High of 75, mostly sunny.

    Notes: Arrive hydrated and bring at least 2 bottles of water. Please check weather report the night before. This is Texas weather and subject to change.

    Riders, we have a KIA mission in San Antonio this coming Saturday.
    For those Austin area riders who would like to ride down together, Austin ride captain Juan Gonzales has posted a staging below. Below his staging you will find the San Antonio mission details.

    Sgt Ward died serving our country; this is our opportunity to recognize and honor his sacrifice.

    MIA/KIA, Memorial Marker Dedication*

    Riders, many of you remember the mission last November for the return of Cpl Luna to his family and community after

    giving his life for his country many years ago. His family has invited the PGR to participate in the dedication of the memorial marker at his final resting place. Army Rangers will be conducting the ceremony.

    Memorial Ceremony: Sunday, 15
    February, 11:00 am, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery in Taylor, TX

    *Staging Location*: We will stage at Covert Ford-Chevrolet of Hutto, located 1.7 miles east of downtown Hutto on the north side of Hwy 79. We will stage at the *far east end* of the car lot. Location Map: http://tinyurl.com/6fdb4q

    Staging Time: 9:45-10:15 am

    KSU: 10:20 am for the
    approx. 15 min ride to the cemetery.
