We had 10 patriots in the flag line today to honor the service of Cpl Ralph “Corky” Granzin, Sr. Two flag holders stood at the entrance near the busy street and were occasionally saluted with approving horn honks.

Cpl Granzin’s son spoke briefly with us briefly to the flag line and related a story from his dad’s USMC service. In 1962, at the height of what we know as the Cuban Missile Crisis, Cpl Granzin found himself among other marines aboard a ship heading for Cuba. Thankfully they were ordered to turn around.

Following the conclusion of the service, four riders accompanied the LEO escorted procession up to CTSVC in Killeen for the interment service.

    RIP Marine.
