    Confirmed Mission: The family of Mr. John Louie Shuffield have requested the Patriot Guard Riders accompany their loved one in a procession from the funeral home in Cameron to Central Texas State Cemetery in Killeen. Mr. Shuffield served four years in the US Navy, 1959 to 1963, and left the service as a Seaman.

    9:00 – 9:25 am – Staging
    9:25 am – Briefing
    9:30 am – KSU of procession to CTSVC

    Austin area staging: For those wishing to ride out together:
    Shell Station (Food Basket), 3600 E University Ave, Georgetown, TX 78626. SW corner of SH130 & Hwy 29 on the east side of Georgetown.

    8:10 am – Briefing
    8:15 am – KSU for 1 hr ride to the funeral home.

    Wx: High 67 deg F, mostly sunny

    Notes: This is an approx. 1 hr ride between Cameron and CTSVC with no stops. It is not yet clear if there will be an LEO escort. We are NOT road guards and do not perform law enforcement traffic control duties. Centex PGR will have a flag line at the cemetery. Austin riders will enter the gate and pull to the side to allow the procession to proceed. We will then depart.

    It was a bit chilly this morning for the eight riders on seven motorcycles who rode with respect for Mr. Shuffield’s service to our country. We had LEO escort most of the way, and where we didn’t was open country road. It was encouraging to see oncoming vehicles pull to the shoulder along the route.

    Thanks to all who attended today. RIP Mr. John Louie “Bubba” Shuffield.
