Confirmed mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the funeral and interment services for Retired Lt Col John William Smith III. Lt Col Smith entered the Navy in 1946 and later joined the USAF, flying missions during the Korea and Vietnam wars. He served his country with distinction for over 24 years.
Burial to follow at nearby Cook Walden Forest Oaks Cemetery.

Following the start of the funeral service we will strike the flag line and stand by to join the LEO escorted procession to the nearby Cook Walden Forest Oaks cemetery where we will form a second flag line for the interment service.
21 Patriot Guard personnel attended the Services for LtCol. Smith. We had three new riders attend and the furthest rider came from Pasadena. The family was very appreciative that we were there. Thanks to all that participated in a rather long mission and hope all who attended made it home safely.
