    Confirmed Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the funeral service for Mr. John C. "Pappy" DeVanie. He joined the US Army July 19, 1943 and served with the 509 Parachute Infantry Battalion as a Pathfinder in Operation Dragoon, establishing a second front against the Nazi's in Southern France.

    Date/Time: Friday, 03 March 2017. Funeral service set to begin at 1 pm.

    Location: Cook Walden Funeral Home Chapel of the Hills, 9700 Anderson Mill Rd, Austin, TX 78750. This locations is one block west of the Hwy 183/Anderson Mill Rd intersection. We will stage at the funeral home.

    11:45 am- 12:15 pm Staging
    12:15 pm- Mission Briefing
    12:20 pm – Flag Line

    Wx: Hi 71, clear skies

    Notes: This mission is a flag line only at the funeral home. Please note that a visitation will begin at noon prior to the funeral service. Be mindful of the arrival of friends and family during the staging period. Once the funeral service begins we will strike the flag line and depart quietly.

    Interment will take place in Tyler, TX the following day. East TX PGR is covering that portion.
