    Confirmed Mission: The family of George Lee Meyners has invited the PGR to participate in his funeral service.  Mr. Meyners served in the US Navy and got his wings in 1956 spending two years as a fighter pilot in carrier operations across the Pacific . He left the service after 4 years of active duty with the rank of LTJG.

    Date/Time: Thursday, August 20, 2026.  Funeral service begins at 2 pm.

    Timeline:
    1:00 – 1:20 pm – Staging
    1:20 pm – Briefing
    1:30 pm – Flag line

     Wx: High 103 deg F, mostly sunny.

     Notes: This mission is a flag line only prior to the funeral service.  After the start of the service we will strike the flag line and depart quietly.

    Six Patriots were in attendance for the flag line honoring LTJG George Lee Meyners. With the temps in triple-digits, no breeze, we staged inside the foyer. The Navy Service flag and American flag flanked the entrance doors with the remaining flag holders assembled at each marble pillar encircling the inner perimeter of the foyer. The flag line complimented the memorabilia table reflective of LTJG Meyners’ service.

    The vette parked outside centered on the entrance doors was a nice tribute by the family. Along with the family uniform dress-code in Hawaiian attire.

    While staging for this event, every PGR member in attendance was in awe of LTJG Meyners’ accomplishments, both in the military and civilian life. To have found love twice in one’s lifetime is astonishing. To be involved in so many activities (revolving around the need for speed) is a testament to LTJG Meyners’ character.

    It was an honor and privilege to stand in respect for LTJG Meyners.
