Five Patriot Guard Riders showed up to honor Col Meador on this beautiful but slightly windy morning. As usual, Nicki arrived early and staked flags at the entrance and had flags ready for the ceremony.
I had mentioned to the funeral director yesterday on the phone that if needed we would be able to help unload the casket when it arrived at 0830. We were able to be of service, unloading and positioning the casket in the church.
I greeted Mrs. Meador when she arrived with her daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter and presented her the sympathy card signed by all members who were present. The family expressed appreciation for out attendance and were grateful that we acknowledged the fact that Col. and Mrs. Meador had been married for 73 years! Several others thanked us for our presence as they entered the church.
Though our numbers were small this morning, the level of appreciation for our presence was reassuringly high. May this hero with 30 years of honorable service in the United States Air Force “Rest In Peace”.- This reply was modified 1 week ago by markwells.
