Final Itinerary

The family of Senior Master Sergeant Donald D. Blackmore has requested the participation of the PGR in his funeral and interment services.

Donald D. Blackmore enlisted in the US Army Air Corp where he became an aircraft mechanic, then progressed to maintenance supervisor. He was a maintenance crew chief and made many missions while serving during WW II, Korea, and Vietnam. During WW II, he was forced to bail out 3 times because the aircraft was not going to make it home. He worked with the B-25, B-29, B-36, and B-52s. He retired from the Air Force in 1969.

SMSgt Blackmore is the father-in-law of Austin PGR ride captain Sam Warren.

Date/Time: Tuesday, 25 January 2011. Funeral service scheduled for 2 pm.

Location: First United Methodist Church, 907 W. Lake Drive, Taylor, TX. We will stage at the church.

Directions: Approaching Taylor on eastbound Hwy 79, go north on State Loop 427 (Carlos Parker Blvd) and turn right at the first opportunity onto W. Lake Drive. The church is approx. 1 mile on the right. Map link: tinyurl.com/FUMCTaylor

Wx: Partly cloudy, low 34, high 52 deg. Please remember to bring drinking water.

Notes: Please arrive fueled, fed, and hydrated. Park on the east side of the church property on Kimbro Street, with bikes backed into the spaces. Fill this lot starting at the south end. Church parking is limited, so please park tightly, leaving as much room as possible for friends and family.

At the conclusion of the funeral service there will be an LEO escorted procession to Cook-Walden Capitol Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, approx. 25 miles, where we will form a flag line for the interment service. The route will be determined by LEO, and details may change, so semper gumby.
