    Confirmed Mission: The family of Craig M Cunningham has invited the Patriot Guard Riders to participate in his memorial service.  Mr. Cunningham served in the US Army from 1968 – 1972, including deployment to Vietnam.  He left the service as a sergeant.

    Date/Time: Saturday, 02 April 2022.  Funeral service begins at 11 am

    Location: Riverbend Church in the Smith Chapel, 4214 N Capital of Texas Hwy, Austin, TX 78746

    10:00 – 10:20 am – Staging
    10:20 am – Briefing
    10:30 am – Flag line

    Wx: High 84 deg F, mostly sunny

    Notes: Bring a bottle of water for yourself and one for a friend.  After the start of the funeral service we will strike the flag line and depart quietly.

    Mission Complete. 11 Patriot Guard Members stood the flag line to honor this veteran. Many family members expressed their sincere appreciation for our participation in this service. Mrs. Cunningham, the widow, had previously asked if there would be some motorcycles present. We had parked away from the Chapel so as to not be in the way and when I informed her of that practice she ask if they could park in the circular drive right outside the Chapel entrance. She let me know that Mr. Cunningham had 5 motorcycles and was a real riding enthusiast. We decided to bring 3 Harley’s, with our most season’d riders up near the Chapel entrance so that they could be seen by arriving attendees and could also be heard as they departed at the beginning of the service. All family members were pleased that we were able to do that.

    Thank you to all members who participated in this mission. Your participation was truly appreciated.

    RIP Sgt. Cunningham.
